Terms of Use

Verdano. Last updated: 6 August 2026.

The short version. Verdano is a recipe tool, not a doctor and not a cookbook editor. Recipes it imports are read by AI and can contain mistakes, so check the ingredients and the cooking steps yourself before you cook, especially if you or anyone you are cooking for has an allergy.

1. Who you are agreeing with

These terms are the agreement between you and the person who makes Verdano:

Verdano is made by an individual, not a company. By downloading or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app. How your data is handled is a separate document: the Privacy Policy.

2. Your licence to use the app

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Verdano on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own cooking. You may not sell, rent, lend or otherwise pass the app on to someone else.

Verdano is distributed through the App Store, so Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your copy. Where these terms are silent on something, Apple's terms fill the gap. Where they cover the same ground, these terms describe how Verdano in particular works.

3. Verdano Premium

Verdano Premium removes the library limit and includes 500 AI actions per month. It costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, with a 7-day introductory trial. The trial is an introductory offer and can only be used once. If your Apple ID has already had it, the subscription is charged immediately.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase, and the subscription renews automatically for the same period until you cancel it. Apple shows the current price and, if you are eligible, the trial terms before you confirm. To cancel, open the subscription settings for your Apple ID; cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or the next period is charged.

Apple is the merchant of record for every purchase. We never see your payment details, and we cannot issue refunds. Refund requests go to Apple and are decided under Apple's policy.

4. The free tier

Verdano is usable without paying. Without a subscription you can keep up to 10 recipes in your library and use 3 AI actions per day. An AI action is anything that sends a recipe to the AI: importing one, asking for a Healthify, or generating a nutrition estimate, including the estimate the app produces after you edit a recipe's ingredients by hand. The app shows how much of the daily allowance is left.

These limits are not permanent. If we change them, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. An active subscription keeps the terms it was sold under until its period ends.

5. Recipes are generated by AI, and AI gets things wrong

When you import a recipe, whether from a link, a video, a photo or pasted text, the content is read and structured by an AI model. Healthify suggestions are produced the same way. This is not transcription. The model interprets what it is given, and it can misread a quantity, drop an ingredient, invent a step, or convert a unit incorrectly. A recipe in Verdano is our best reading of the source, not a guarantee of it.

Always verify ingredients, quantities, cooking times and temperatures, especially allergens, before relying on them. An imported recipe can omit an allergen that was present in the original, or list one that never was. Do not treat an imported ingredient list as an allergen check.

Cooking safely is your responsibility. That includes cooking meat, fish and eggs to safe temperatures, handling and storing food properly, and judging whether a recipe is safe for the people you are feeding. Verdano does not do any of that for you.

6. Not medical or nutritional advice

Healthify offers general culinary suggestions: lighter ingredients, different methods. Nutrition figures shown in the app are estimates produced by the same AI models and are not measured values.

None of this is medical, dietary or nutritional advice, and none of it is personalised to you. Verdano does not know your health, your medication, your allergies or your clinical situation. If you are making a decision about your health, whether managing a condition, changing your diet, or feeding someone with an allergy or an intolerance, ask a doctor or a qualified dietitian. Do not use Verdano in place of one, and do not delay getting advice because of something the app suggested.

7. What you import

You decide what to put into Verdano. You are responsible for having the right to use the links, text and photos you import, and for respecting the rights of whoever wrote or filmed the original. Verdano does not give you rights to someone else's recipe, article, video or photograph.

Imported recipes are for your own personal use. They stay in your library on your device. We do not keep a copy. If you republish something you imported, that is your act and your responsibility.

8. How you may use the app

Use Verdano to cook. Do not use it to attack the service or the people running it. In particular, do not:

If usage from one installation is clearly abusive, we may rate-limit or block it. That is the only enforcement we have: there is no account to suspend.

9. Warranty and liability

Verdano is provided as it is. We do not promise that imports will always succeed, that the app will be available without interruption, or that a generated recipe will be accurate or complete. The app depends on services we do not control, including Apple's and OpenAI's, and on websites that can change or disappear.

Our liability is limited to the extent Austrian law permits. We are liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for personal injury, without limitation. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation essential to this agreement, and only for the damage typically foreseeable in it.

None of this removes rights you have that cannot be removed. Mandatory consumer rights under Austrian and EU law, including the statutory warranty for digital content, apply regardless of what this section says.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms will change as the app does. If a change is material (pricing, the free-tier limits, how the AI features work), we will announce it in the app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Verdano after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

11. Governing law

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in. Those rules, and the courts they give you access to, apply whatever this section says.
